Cookies
Rosa and I just made a big batch of cookies. These are my speciality "Kitchen Sink Cookies"--which come out different every time depending on what I have on hand--and they have all sorts of interesting ingredients. Mashed bananas. Chocolate chips. M&M's. Oatmeal. Golden raisins. Dried cherries. Dried cranberries. Black walnuts. A bit of maple flavoring. Cocoa. Crushed candy canes (this last was Rosa's idea).
Over all they turned out pretty well, though I don't think I'll use black walnuts again. They're a bit too strong-tasting.
Making cookies with a two-year-old is quite an adventure. I was sort of expecting to have a horrible mess afterwards, and that did not happen. She helped put in the mix-ins, and stir the batter, and drop the cookies on the cookie sheet...and eat the finished product.
Now she's asleep on the couch and I'm resting.

Homemade cookies...
I haven't made cookies in ages. I have a recipe for my Auntie Gwen's chocolate chip cookies that I love. And they're so easy. (Auntie Gwen isn't actually any sort of relative. She was the cook at the non-fraternity where my father lived during med school. He hired her, and I was nearly born in the house, and spent many of my formative years in her kitchen.) I guess the reason I love them is because they taste like my childhood... *ponder*
Re: Homemade cookies...
It had been far too long, as I realized when I was doing the Twenty Things I Like exercise. So Fi made happy cookies yesterday and is now happy Fi. (Well, I've been happy Fi for some two-three weeks now, thanks hon...)
I'm a good cook, too. ;-) If I say so myself. It's something I really enjoy doing, though my tiny kitchen makes it very difficult and depressing. Only six more weeks till I get my house back, and a real kitchen!
Re: Homemade cookies...
I really enjoy cooking, too. And, like you, our apartment's kitchen is entirely too small and very non-cooking conducive. Oh well. Most apartment kitchens aren't.
I think I'm going to bake cookies this afternoon to take into work. Matt and I aren't supposed to be having sweeties, because we're trying to get healthy, but I *need* to bake.
