Ack!

I've been checking the time on my PC clock while writing email this morning, thinking I had plenty of time to get ready and get to work, because it reads 7:22. However, it wasn't till the third time I checked it that I realized it had read 7:22 every time I looked! The real time was already past 8:30, which means I am going to be late no matter what I do. I came back and finished my email anyway. Now I've got to get dressed quickly and dash off to work. I'm still in my bathrobe!
(Something is in not-responding state and has locked the taskbar. This has happened before. I just didn't realize it was happening today. Not being particularly quick on the uptake first thing in the morning.)

I got a call this morning from the flooring contractor. "Did you choose a stain color yet?" Turns out they had done five color samples on the living room floor, which is the one room I didn't go into last night (there's no light fixtures in there, and it was dark). So I had to just describe what I wanted and hope they do something good. I'm sure it will be fine. ::crosses fingers::

I'm about to call it a day at work. Today was a lot better than yesterday; I feel like I've got some sense of where I'm going with this thing for the moment. Still, it's nowhere near ready for the vice presidents' demo tomorrow. I hope they spend a lot of time on the more finished portions of the applications and just show mine cursorily.

Tonight I have to go collect the Rosa and then I'm going to visit Marina and Drew. I haven't seen them in several weeks, while I've been working like a dervish on the house. Now that I have a brief enforced break I'm taking advantage and visiting people. I hope I can also get some cleaning done in my apartment this weekend.

So I may be home kinda late, if anyone's looking for me. Probably not much later than eleven, since the Rose will be with me.

And speaking of roses, I've decided to get some ink. I've known for a while that I wanted a blooming rose (not a teensy rosebud). With Jen's assistance I finally determined where I want it! It goes on the front of my left hip.

Jen just got a pair of tribal dragon heads on her breasts, covering some old un-special ink. They're spectacular. (Antecedent intentionally left vague.)

Is there a word for nostalgia for something you never really had? Something that might have, could have, even should have been, but never was?

I got home tonight to find a card from Kirk in my mailbox.
