Incommunicado

I've been mostly off-line for the last couple days, having a lovely and relaxing visit with neeuqdrazil and curgoth, and while I did manage to read my email I just didn't bother posting to LJ. This isn't really much of a post either except to say I'm home safely and about to go crash into bed. Maybe try out the new toy I just bought at showtime76's party, but I think I'm too tired for that right now. Tomorrow while Rosa takes her nap (she is going to take a nap tomorrow, right?) I'll try to post a bit of a summary of the last few days.

The Rosa has now learned almost everything there is to know about working the TV and VCR. She just brought me a tape, asked me which one it was, took it to the VCR and inserted it, started it playing, and turned on the TV.

Rosa is napping, in theory, though she seems to be restless. I took her for a drive to put her to sleep and a thunderstorm broke *just then*. Well she went to sleep but I had to bring her inside from the car in the pounding rain and she hasn't really slept properly since.

...about three hours have passed since I wrote that. Immediately after I finished the last sentence, she woke up and fell off the sofa. I cuddled her until she stopped crying; she asked to go for another little drive, so we went out again. I had hoped she'd go back to sleep but she did not, she got more and more alert. Finally I came back home to get my purse, and we went to the grocery store.

It's been a crazy day for weather. It was grey and chilly this morning, then cleared up and got warm, if not quite hot. Then the fifteen- or thirty-minute thunderstorm I just mentioned, then it cleared again, and now it's back to being grey and threatening.

I'd like to get more than two stripes done on the lawn, but that does not seem likely now. Guess it will have to be shaggy until Wednesday now.

I'm zonked. Got to put away the tacos from dinner and then I'm going straight to sleep.
