Jun. 18th, 2002 10:05 amSunday at Grant's Farm. It was very nice, though the baby goats scared poor Rosa. The moment she got into their enclosure, they swarmed her and nearly knocked her down. She didn't want anything more to do with goats after that, though eventually she did help me feed the older goats by picking up goat food from the ground and putting it in my hand so the goats could eat it. She wouldn't let them touch her, though. She didn't want to pet the turtle out for a stroll, either. That was rather surprising: I turned around from looking at the eagles to see a huge land turtle strolling along the walkway apparently alone. Turned out there was a keeper following, and they do this every day to exercise them. But it was weird to see. I scratched its neck: it was almost soft, like pliable leather.
The few hours there just completely wore me out: Rosa fell asleep in the car on the way home, and I crashed into bed with her as soon as we got home.
Yesterday I called in sick to work. I took Rosa to daycare as usual then came home and went straight back to bed. I slept until noon, got up and puttered about a bit (read a book, read email, didn't even bother posting to LJ), took another nap around 4, then picked up the girl from school and took her out to dinner.
Played Amber Nights as usual in the evening, but wasn't really into it until late, because as has also become usual of late, Rosa refused to go to bed. I am not sure what to do to get her back into her bedtime routine.
Jen's and Dan's characters are at loggerheads again. I feel like there ought to be something I can do to help settle the problem, but I don't know what. I hate to see her leave the game--but on the other hand, I'd rather spend time with her than play Amber, if it came to that.
