Kind of boring answers today, but then I've been posting about this stuff all week.

Shortbread...gives me bittersweet memories. Ray loves shortbread, so it reminds me of him. But the days during which we encountered shortbread (always Walker's) were good ones. Small town English life, lots of friends, happy together...

Dream

I just remembered parts of my dream from this morning.

I was in Mandan for some reason. Had extra warmer clothes stashed up in a locker almost too high for me to reach. A company meeting with the CEO. Introduce me and other visitors from STL. Tan metal folding chairs. We're sent outside for breaks (there were two in the dream). I think, "They get recess up here?" Go outside. It's cold and there's snow on the ground but it's not intolerable. Mandan employees strike up various games. Second recess I get involved in a frisbee-like game with colorful floppy plastic baskets. Try to throw one like a frisbee, it goes nowhere. I'm taught that they have to be thrown more gently: tossed onto the air. No coffee in the pot in the breakroom which is also where the lockers are. Something about someone having gotten a nipple piercing--there was a picture of it circulating, I forget how it connected. I can visualize the picture. She had a long barbell, about three or four inches long. One side stuck out about an inch, and had a long pink bead on it. The other side stuck out about two inches and had several beads on it, different shapes and colors. I thought it looked pretty damn cool. Most people were aghast. Finally manage to get my warm clothes out of the locker (I spent much of the dream trying to find an opportunity to put them on). Something got stuck and a tall man had to help me get it out. Then I woke up.

I think of replying "Fish." And then modify that first to "Bees," and then to "Monkeys!" which makes me think of curgoth and neeuqdrazil, which makes me think of "Marmot!" and the vision of cg tickling Zil at the swingset in the park, which reminds me of some scenes in the video my parents showed me when they were here--pictures of marmots, in fact, which had at the time themselves reminded me of the aforementioned tickling.

And now I'm smiling with a sort of bittersweet memory.
