Ray came to pick up Rosa this morning.

"I see you have a tattoo on your back."

No response. Conversation about other things, dealing with ornery Rosa, etc.

"Can I at least see it or will it be offensive to me?"

So I showed it to him.

"Did it hurt?"

Eyeroll, which he did not see, being behind me at the time. No, not especially.

Imponderables

The United States Postal Service doesn't even print stamps that have to be torn apart and licked anymore (do they?), so why do the self-stick variety have imitation perforations?

Tease

I just set a bowl of dough out to rise. Haven't made yeast bread in years.

Further tease

Dough has now been rolled out and stuffed with cinnamon sugar (at double the recipe amount) and sprinkled with raisins which I had simmered in brandy and water. Now all the pretty little spirals are sitting out waiting to rise again. Hopefully not on the third day, I can't wait that long.

Blink, stretch, yawn. It's been a long day.

But I've gotten a lot done: wrote lots of Christmas cards, made the rolls to die for, watched the second half of Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone (or watched most of the second half dozing in and out and then fell asleep right before the end--I remember "use the boy" and then nothing more until I woke up and saw the menu screen displayed), wrapped presents, assembled a bookcase and filled it with books from the remaining boxes in here, and assembled a drawing table and stool for Rosa.

Also IM'd with indyansel and indigobynight and talked to Jay for a few minutes. Made plans for Jen and Phaelen to come over tomorrow night and tentative plans to do something with Rebecca next weekend.

And now I am about to fall down asleep at my desk so I think I will go sleep in my bed instead.
