When I was teaching a couple of years ago, our school was in an Asian neighborhood that got *very loud* around the Lunar New Year, which would really make some of the kids edgy. We found that if we provided them with bubble wrap, even taped it down here and there on the tricycle path and where the children could run, they were calmer. It was as if controlling the noise themselves made a big difference. (We also provided quiet areas inside, lots of calm activities there.)
