May. 29th, 2014 12:02 amI was just out for a walk, just me and the dog at almost midnight, like I do at least once or twice a week in good weather. I heard footsteps approaching quickly from behind. My guard instantly went up, as one does, and even more so as he came closer and I knew it was a man. He spoke to me. He said, "that guy on the motorcycle isn't making any friends in the neighborhood, is he."
And while we were going the same direction, we had a 30-second conversation about the noisy motorcyclist, in which no comments whatsoever were made about my appearance, my daring to be out alone after dark, or any such thing. Then he turned a corner on his walking route and I went straight ahead.
Three or five minutes later we ran into each other again going opposite directions on another street, he said, "it's you guys again," I said, "I was just thinking the same thing," and we continued on our separate ways.
