(A sonnet, of all things!)

Prosecutor:	I declare this woman named Marie Consorted with a demon vile And practiced loathsome witchery.
Witnesses:	I saw her with cunning and guile Put poison in the Millers' well! In the disguise of a piebald goat The devil helped her cast a spell To make our milch cow die of bloat! She frustrates all our gainful toil! She calls the spirits of the air!
Judge:	So may the waters swirl and boil I sentence her to the ducking chair To try the truth of your parole. God grant his mercy on her soul.
