papersky just showed up on my friend-of list today (Hello, welcome :-) )...and seeing her there reminded me to go off and read The King's Name, which had been sitting on my to-read pile for quite some time. I've just finished it.

Eeep, though, now I'm expecting a question like "What did you think of it?" and I'm danged lousy at book reviews. I enjoyed it. I'd been a bit worried that I would be lost, as it's more than two years since I read The King's Peace, but everything came back quickly. Prologue helped with that. I very much like Sulien; she seems like a person I would like to know. The books feel like the reminiscences of an old soldier, telling the story of her life, which happens to coincide with a very pivotal time in the history of her country. I suppose I have to say country; it doesn't quite seem like the right term but nothing else better comes to mind. Land, perhaps.
