Dec. 12th, 2002 11:59 pmIt says something very sad about the state of both my couch and my finances that I was greatly excited on arrival home tonight to find a sofa left out for the bulky trash pickup. I immediately checked it over. I found no obvious faults with it except for one missing leg and a couple of water stains. I dashed inside to call some friends to try and arrange assistance in getting it inside. Neither of the people I called were home, so I went out and dragged it into my garage for safekeeping from both the weather and other potential scavengers. Hopefully tomorrow--or soon anyway--I'll convince someone to help move that one in and my old one out.
It may have been someone's trash, but despite its problems, it's in far better condition than the one I have in the house, which is as old as I am and far more threadbare.
