semperfionaTwo things happened in tonight's baseball game that I've never seen before. In the first inning, the Cardinals pulled off a double steal. I'd seen that on television in highlights shows but never in an actual game.
In the third, a Brewer was called out on strikes. He argued, and the umpire not only didn't throw him out, he called in the other three umpires for a conference. And they recanted the call! (Twelve pitches later, the player flied out.)
What has happened to the sacrosanct office of umpire? "They is what I calls 'em!"
