I have a college student

Super busy weekend. Saturday was full up with packing from vacation (about which more later) and driving home thirteen hours. Sunday was Deliver the Kid to College Day. New student checkin, getting her room key, getting her moved in, shopping for some more room "essentials" (does a dorm resident really need a throw rug when her floors are already carpeted?), and home to collapse.

Her classes started today. She's got eight am classes all week, poor thing--she is SO not a morning person. But at least today, she got herself up and was texting from class at 8:15. (Yeah, I know.)

Books are frightfully expensive. I had set up her bookstore cart with her yesterday, to the tune of $560 (and most of those were used books)..but today she tells me the total is nearly $900. Apparently there were three more books she needed.

We shopped before Chick left this year, we moved a ton into her apartment, we shopped while there with her, and she shopped again over the weekend, and she's still not fully set up. GAH. College is a money sink. And books are ridiculous. If you haven't already checked it out, check out renting them through Amazon. For the ones she can get that way, it's Chick's preferred method.
