semperfiona | Snowflake Challenge Day 1: Self-introduction

This is actually my third attempt at this. I wrote a bunch of crap yesterday and the day before that I didn't like at all.

Hi, I'm Fiona aka semperfiona everywhere. I use she/her pronouns.

I'm a multi-fannish, multi-craftish jumper-in-at-the-deep-end-of-new-things. I'm a podficcer (five years this week, y'all!) who occasionally dabbles in art and writing. I hang out here, on Discord, and as of lately on Twitter.

I'm old enough to know better and also old enough not to give a shit. (For approximation purposes, my daughter just turned 20 and I was not super young when she was born.) I live in the USA, in a place that is too far east to be the west, too far west to be the east, too far north to be the south and too far south to be the north, doesn't really quite fit into the midwest either, but has aspects of all of the above.

My family consists of me, my wife, our boyfriend and the aforementioned daughter. We all live together in a messy house.

Most of my non-family offline social life revolves around Charis the St Louis Women's Chorus. Joining it has made a huge difference in my life: I was in a choir in high school that really shattered my confidence in singing, but for whatever reason I gave this a chance and it has restored me entirely. As well as providing the real world community that I craved.

Between podfic and singing I have gained both a literal and a metaphorical voice in the last five years.
