Further thoughts on Star Wars Ep 2

The film made me think about the fallibility of good people, and how evil can have great success if the evildoers can trust each other.
The Jedi were led to sow the seeds of their own destruction. By making what seemed like the best possible decisions at the time, the Jedi brought their eventual downfall upon themselves. They were forced to follow a path that was completely planned out in advance, that led them to betray their own ideals, and their every step was expected and known. "I have good news. The war has begun." "Good."
Too often we assume that evil people are completely untrustworthy and that evil conspiracies will destroy themselves from the inside. It ain't necessarily so, even though we like to think it because it makes us feel safer. And even if it is true, a lot of damage can be done along the way between episodes two and six. ;-) Truth is, even evil people have their common goals and ability to cooperate.
I was inspired to think about the implications for Amber...about double agents and betrayals of trust. There may be some plot developments on the way ;-)
