Jul. 20th, 2002 11:03 pmThe Muny experiment was a qualified success. I didn't have to chase her all over the theatre, but she was climbing on the rails and seats. That wasn't too bad. Then somewhere in the middle of the second act she started crying "I wanna go home!" over and over, so we left.
I'm not sure whether I liked the show or not. It seemed to use very exaggerated stereotypes for the pirates and Indians in Neverland, but then, that might be the way a small child would imagine them. Captain Hook, and the pirates to a lesser degree, was immensely campy. His costume was pink and purple satin, he actually came in on a sedan chair, and he danced his nefarious plots to a tango and a tarantella (and that's when I had to leave).
