Aug. 23rd, 2002 10:34 amThe somewhat-abating-in-evil ex called this morning at 8:00 am, getting me out of bed to answer the phone. Yes, I should have been up. No, I wasn't up yet.
He noticed some charges on his credit card bill recently that he didn't think he had made. He has asked me about them several times, since that card belonged to a joint account we had. I told him I did not make the charges. He claimed to believe me. This morning he said the credit company had told him the charges were made on my card. I told him yet again that I hadn't made them, and that in fact I had cut up the card a year ago. Apparently the credit company told him that "if the card was stolen there would be a lot of big charges": use for only a few gasoline purchases in the St. Louis area doesn't fit the profile, so they were trying to blame me for them.
Whatever, in the end they seem to have removed the charges and given him a new account number in his sole name, so it's all good.
