Time to go to bed so I can get up and do morning pages...

I just registered for Black Road and wrote a check. Now all I need is an envelope and a stamp.

Just bought my online tickets for Sunday at 2:30. I'd like to use this as my artist date for the week, but that feels a little like cheating because I'm going with some friends. I think I will plan something else for Wednesday or Thursday.

Yes, I know it's not morning anymore, and I should have said this then, but oh well. I got up and wrote the morning pages today: sheer drivel, barely even legible, but that's not the point, is it. Doing it is the point, at least at this stage.

Tomorrow is going to be harder, because I will have to get up at the crack o' dawn (on a Saturday!) in order to do them before Rosa wakes up and interrupts me. Hopefully I can finish and then go back to bed for a little while.

I've been accumulating these for the past couple of years, finding little cards and fridge magnets with meaningful sayings on them and sticking them to the fridge, where I'll see them every day. I realized the other day that what they are is little spells: each re-reading and repetition grants them a little more power to reshape my life. When I get a Book of Shadows these will be on the first page, with room for more to come to me.

In the order I found them...

  1. Live with intention

  2. Do one thing every day that scares you

  3. If you're going to walk on thin ice you might as well dance

Between those three things I feel that my desired life direction is fairly well defined. I suppose it could really be summed up in the single word
BE!
