Sep. 6th, 2002 03:46 pm1. What is your biggest pet peeve? Why?
Misuse of the English language.
2. What irritating habits do you have?
Talking to (or yelling at) my computer when something doesn't work right.
Procrastination, which covers a multitude of faults: everything from throwing dirty clothes on the floor to leaving dishes in the sink for far too long.
3. Have you tried to change the irritating habits or just let them be?
Not really.
4. What grosses you out more than anything else? Why?
Anything involving sharp objects in the proximity of someone's eyes. For example, even though the basic concept of The X-Files was right up my street, I stopped watching it altogether after two episodes in a row where someone was stabbed in the eye. When watching Minority Report I had to bury my face in Jen's shoulder during several scenes. I'm not even sure I'll ever be able to get Lasik surgery due to the same phobia. On the other hand, I have some desire to get an eyebrow piercing just for this very reason: to confront the fear. I probably won't, though, because I don't think it would go over very well at work.
I think besides the obvious squick factor, it's due to the fact that I have horrible eyesight, and I'm terrified of losing what little remains of it.
Oddly enough, putting contacts in is not a problem for me.
5. What one thing can you never see yourself doing that other people do?
I'm inclined to say "get married again", but that falls under the category of "never say never".
