Another strange dream
Dec. 3rd, 2002 09:56 amI am standing among many people around a large courtyard, receiving instructions. I've forgotten the instructions, but it was a Noah's ark idea, bring a pair of each animal. About half the people get a pair of leashes each; I am one of them. I start thinking of getting a pair of leopards but before I even got out of the square I somehow end up with two cuddly chocolate-colored cocker spaniels. I don't even need the leashes, I carry them in my arms like furry babies. I give my leashes to Jenny D, one of my good friends from high school.
Some time elapses, I've forgotten how. I bring the dogs back to the courtyard, which was now full of animals, big and small. But no elephants! I wonder who's going to bring the elephants.
Then I'm standing in a large pantry, collecting games and food. I have a pretty big paper bag full, including a large canister of something, but then I remember that food isn't really the goal of this collection drive, and put some of it back. One of the games is a keychain remote for a car I no longer have. It has lots of buttons for a mysterious game.
Bringing back my small tupperware container filled with tiny games, I trip on the ramp and drop three dominoes. There are loose Uno cards where they fell. I pick the dominoes up and continue back to the deposit point, where I find most of the animals gone, presumably taken to the destination. I go down into the square to put my things down. Stuff is lying on the back of a lazy tiger. I move the stuff off the female tiger, and realize her head is on top of my sandaled foot. I slide my foot away.
I start away to look for more animals. Someone asks me, "How many newts can you bring back in a cat vote? Five?" A cat vote meant some measure of time.
I reply, "I'm going to neut a newt," and look up at the clock.
