Heh. I'm turning into one, kicking and screaming every minute along the way, now that I have a kid. At least, I have to get up and be semi-human towards her as soon as she wakes up around seven. But I'll never do what my ex does. He gets up at 5 so that he can do things before she gets up. Me, I just stay up after she goes to bed.

I sympathise :) As for phone calls, I explicitly told my friends to call whenever they pleased, since I couldn't guarantee any fixed sleep timings. Worked out quite well in practice.
