It's strange. Mowing the lawn used to be one of my favorite chores, but now I put it off and put it off. I just finally did it today, after a good month of not mowing. Of course, it hadn't rained for most of that time, so it didn't matter.

But to return to my point, as I was mowing the lawn just now, I realized one possible reason for the change of mind. Used to be that mowing was one of the few times I had to be alone with my thoughts. Nowadays, I get a lot of time alone with my thoughts, and mowing isn't special anymore.
