I've just been watching a movie called Original Sin, with Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie. For having two of the hotter stars--and I mean, doable, not just earning high salaries--it was disappointingly unsexy. There was a sequence near the beginning with lots of views of Banderas's back and Jolie's breasts, but it wasn't really all that hot. The onscreen chemistry wasn't there, maybe. Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones's swordfight in The Mask of Zorro is hotter, even though it shows less skin.

For my money, Banderas and Carla Gugino in "Spy Kids" have some of the hottest screen chemistry there is :).

I was seriously unimpressed with Original Sin. Although I am willing to watch just about anything with Angelina Jolie in it, that was not the way I would have chosen to spend a couple of hours.

::nods:: Yeah...Her character was so unrelentingly self-centered that all I could feel was sorry for Antonio's. And on the eye-candy front, I don't think period dresses or that hairstyle really suited her.

I don't know if I'd say it was a wasted two hours, considering the likelihood that if I hadn't been watching the movie I'd just have been sitting here staring at my computer and obsessively refreshing in hopes of something new, or else playing some game. (Even though there are chores I needed to be doing.)

On the other hand, it's not the movie I had wanted to rent, either. I was looking for Insomnia. It was sold out. I almost got Amelie instead, but this one had a five-day rental, and Amelie was only available for two days. Think I should have gotten Amelie anyway.

I have no desire to see Original Sin, as it's a rehash of Fatal Attraction, as far as the trailer lead me to believe. I didn't like that movie either.

Well, I don't think it's a rehash of Fatal Attraction; the "femme fatale" isn't acting out of hatred for a man, and it ends completely differently. But all the same I don't really recommend it.

I may be miss-remembering, but it seemed that the genders were reversed... maybe it was another movie that came out about that time.

Interesting customer reviews. A few people rave, mostly for the sex and nudity, but a lot of people thought it was mediocre.
