Taking book recommendations...I just placed a library request for Callahan's Lady after hearing Liz rave about it and several other people also tell me I needed to read Robinson. I've never read a single book by Spider Robinson. How did that happen, given that I've read thousands of books, over 50% of them science fiction or fantasy? Maybe none of the libraries I've frequented had any of his works?

Anyway, if anyone wants to suggest me something, go ahead. It doesn't have to be sci-fi or fantasy, I read everything.

I recommend Isabel Allende's Daughter of Fortune as a lush and worthy read.
Don't read Stephen King's Dreamcatcher.

And thank you so much for the virtual chicken soup. It meant a lot.

I hang out on #callahans, but dislike Spider's writing.

I'm currently enjoying Here, I love John MacPhee's Annals of a Former World, I've read Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising sequence every year or so since 1981, and Rosa might want you to read her Catwings when she's 4, if not sooner. (You'll want to read it while you wait.)

...how lucky of you -- to still have that ahead of you
in your life. You haven't read everything Spider's
ever written? :-) Well, ok -- the zero-g dance
stuff with Jeanne doesn't do much for me, but all the
Callahan's stuff, and the short stories...

Go. Read. All.

Make sure you get the sequence right on the Callahans's stuff,
as well as Deathkiller/Lifehouse.
