I'm really tired of being really tired. Even after sleeping nine hours Sunday night and ten hours Monday night, I'm still tired. I sure hope I'm not coming down with anything, because I don't have time to be sick! I hardly have time to get all the things done I have to do this week (especially after I lost two evenings to going to bed early).

Lately I'm feeling like a really bad driver. Even though only one of my three accidents this past year has been my fault (well, two if you count scratching up the rental car *argh*). I began to wonder this morning whether it's related to my general klutziness. I regularly bark my shins on the furniture, hit my head on the car door, or otherwise bruise my tender flesh. It happens so often I don't even notice until much later. I thought about whether perhaps I don't have a good sense of my physical position in space, and whether that might transfer to the position of my car as well. I know I get inordinately unnerved by narrow lanes and the proximity of large trucks...it all seems to fit.

I also think I'm seriously addicted to caffeine. I noticed that it takes at least one large cup of coffee in the morning before I feel like I'm "here" at all. The world takes on a much more appealing crispness after the coffee has been ingested. Same thing applies later in the day to soda or additional coffee. It troubles me a little to think that I need anything in that way, but on the other hand, it's a legal vice and not likely to do any permanent damage. Certainly can't stunt my growth at this point, as mothers all over the world were wont to say.

Late Friday afternoon I decided to go to the monthly get-together of the St Louis Regional Polyamory group. They meet at [livejournal.com profile] lavendargrrl and Chris's house. So I called her up for directions (defeating my telephone phobia for once, woo-fucking-hoo!) and after work I drove down there. I was the first person to arrive, and the three of us sat around the kitchen table chatting and nibbling on the huge spread of food Lavendar had made. People gradually started to show up, and it was a very pleasant evening getting to know a lot of new people and being flirted with rather thoroughly ;-). I hadn't originally planned on staying overnight, but everyone was just so nice I never felt like leaving.

Sometime during the evening we talked about the fact that the Geminid meteor shower was that night, and decided to stay up and watch it. In the end Lavendar and I were the only ones who did go out. We just lay down on a sleeping bag and looked up. Short streaks of light all across the sky, while tiny flashes occurred directly overhead. It was over an hour that we stayed outside in the cold, finally giving up and going inside just after seeing the two most impressive meteors of all--streaks that crossed the entire heavens. Of course, we didn't go to bed then, but stayed up another hour and a half talking. She's really easy to talk to.

That made it 4:30 before I got to bed Friday night. I got up again about nine so that I could run home and get a shower and some clean clothes before meeting [livejournal.com profile] indigobynight for lunch and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. (For those of you keeping track, that was the third time I've seen it. Next, I go for an attendance record at Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.) Indigo wasn't feeling well, but we went to the movie anyhow, and she brought me books! I forgot the ones I had been meaning to lend to her, but that's all right. She'll get them eventually. The folks from SLRP had given me a mission--to persuade her to come out Saturday night--but as she was ill she begged off this time.

On my way home I had realized my cellphone was MIA, so after the movie I called L to ask if it had been found. It had not. I figured out that in that case it must be at work, since I had used it from work to call them the night before. I drove up to the office, where it was indeed sitting jauntily on my desk.

Drove back down to the gathering-place and spent Saturday night as well. It was another very pleasant night with good people and good times. I got to bed around 2:30 and got up at seven because I had to leave by eight am to collect Rosa.

Sunday I spent with Rosa; we bought groceries, made sugar cookies, and went to the Messiah sing-along I posted about earlier. I had been so tired that driving over there my eyes kept crossing, but the music woke me for a while. I crashed early, however, at about ten p.m., only to be called by Jay a few minutes later. He apologized for waking me, but it was hardly his fault, as I'm usually up for long hours past that point.

Yesterday was boring, notable for nothing at all, except me going to bed early again. And forgetting to set the alarm, so that I didn't wake up today until nine. Today has also been boring, though I have gotten a fair amount of work done.

*HUGS* and ~~Stay-well Vibes~~

Sounds like you definitely had a somewhat productive, if tiring weekend, anyway. I got in a second viewing of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Still trying to figure out when to go see The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers... If you're still up to coming to Indy next weekend, we can do as little as you want to if you need to rest.
