semperfionaThe combination of late nights and early mornings has been catching up with me.
I tried to use the around-the-block method to put Rosa down for her nap, but it was too cold and rainy. So we jumped in the car and drove out the highway for ten minutes and back again. She was asleep halfway through the outward journey. I was fighting sleep by the middle of the return journey.
I brought her inside and laid her on my bed and curled up around her. That was 2:00. She's still asleep. I'm awake but barely. I'm considering going back to bed. But we have to be somewhere at 5:00, and I don't want to be overly late. (Retirement party for a coworker from two-three jobs ago. She was a good friend, and I also got to know her daughter well, and haven't seen either of them for a couple years. I'd like to catch up a bit.)
