Mar. 6th, 2005 10:30 amSmall girl has been ill for a few days now. We kept her home from school on Wednesday with a fever of 100.2. Apparently she didn't seem any better over the time Ray has had her, and he took her to the doctor. She has strep throat with scarlet fever, but supposedly isn't contagious anymore as of today.
I was completely horrified when I heard the news, because my only knowledge of scarlet fever was from 19th century books, where people suffer all kinds of horrors from it, such as lifelong deafness or the like. But according to the CDC, it's the same bug that causes strep throat, a fairly common complication, and modern antibiotics will kick its ass just fine.
Whew!
