I brought a snail to work today to clear the algae that's grown on my
betta's tank. It lasted less than five seconds; the betta ate it. He's
been steadfastly ignoring the betta food I give him. Guess I need to
feed him snails.

I've never had a fresh water fish that would eat those things.... so of course they take over the tank. Worse than bunnies those snails! :)
