As per Wellpoint, your pharmacy manager, Folgard is a
vitamin and vitamins are not a covered benefit. Thank you for your
inquiry. In order to continue our response in a timely manner, no reply
is necessary unless further questions arise.


So the fact that I have a genetic mutation that means my body doesn't
process folic acid properly is my problem; insurance won't be helping.

You might consider having your doctor contact your insurance company; it may not help, but it can't /possibly/ hurt. Sometimes having a Professional use Big Words to Explain It All seems to be useful.

And I sigh at your idiot insurance company, and hope they get their heads clear soon.

if you have a script for it, it's a prescription medication, whether it's a vitamin or not. But yeah; have the doc call them.
