It's weirding me out that the last two times I've seen Ray, he's been
wearing an Indiana University t-shirt that I bought him six or ten years
ago. I keep wanting to confiscate it. "That's *my* history! You leave it
alone!"

On the other hand, he's quietly begun to accept and acknowledge my
relationship with Chris and Tammie: when filling out paperwork for
Rosa's school on Thursday, he wrote "all parents" rather than "both".
Yesterday he said something about there being a child in Rosa's class
that she'd have something in common with: "he has two mommies".
Apparently he had chatted with the mommies in question after we left the
school orientation.

I said to Tammie, "I *thought* there'd been a lesbian couple that came
in at the very end!"

1) Boo for IU shirts being worn by stinky non-IU people who thoughtlessly co-opt personal history of others!

2) Yay for "all parents"!

3) Speaking of lesbians...how's the big gay cheese wheel coming along. :P

There were two kids in Kiddo's first-grade class with two mommies, and I was so proud of the school that they listed them that way in the Buzz Book instead of just listing the biological mother. One of them became Kiddo's closest friend, and they had a few play dates at each others' houses. I chatted with the mommies a few times, and it seems they were planning on getting married in the spring. I didn't know them well enough to ask how they were going to manage that in Missouri, which definitely does not allow same-sex marriage. :) It's nice to see civilization moving forward, eh?

Just cuz it ain't a legal marraige don't mean you can't have a wedding...I know a minister (that'd be me) who'll do it. Or maybe they're going to Canada.

Where does the state get off telling people who can and can't be family?

So, should we refer to you as "Reverend"?
