Rosa's birthday is still a week away, but because I'm going to be in Portland next week we decided to give her a birthday celebration today. I got her up and brought her downstairs to the kitchen.

"What's that computer doing there?"

"What's it say on it?"

"It says 'Happy seventh birthday Rosa'...It's mine?!?"

"It's yours."

"But it's not my birthday yet."

I explained about being gone on her actual birthday and told her we were going to have her birthday today. She said, "But I don't have any presents or cake."

"Oh ye of little faith." The whole basement table is covered with a pile of presents, and I'd just given her a computer. *sigh*

It's been a long day. There was Benny's party at the pumpkin patch, then we took Rosa and reannon's Kiddo to Happy Joe's for pizza, ice cream, cake and video games, and now we're all completely wiped and sitting around the living room whimpering. That's to be taken literally, by the way. I've had a headache since leaving Happy Joe's.

I was huddled in bed most of the day but I was thinking of you guys. And figuring that by the end of the day you were going to be huddling in bed along with me after the day you were going to have.

Typical 7 year old. Just be glad you didn't give her a duck. ;)
