Dec. 25th, 2006 11:59 pmI'm not sure I can remember all the presents, there were so many. But the big one (it was in a box taller than Rosa) was a Museum Replicas basket hilt rapier and scabbard. Shiny!
Let's see. A stack of books, including America's Constitution, a Biography, The Bill of Rights (same author),
grrm's The Ice Dragon,
matociquala's Carnival,
papersky's Farthing... Two albums of music from the Civil War, one the soundtrack CD to the Ken Burns PBS series, and one of various well-known artists. Lots of cute clothes, including an orange t-shirt and stripy fleecy orange/pink/red pajama pants that I put on immediately and wore all day. Swizzle sticks to replace my glass butterfly coffee stirrer that met its sad demise a week or so ago. Virtual Pool 3. A lifetime membership to LibraryThing, as well as a CueCat for ISBN barcode-reading. This last has been getting much use already: we've scanned one bookcase (257 books). There are thirteen more bookcases in the house (and they're all double-stacked). And I must say, a laptop computer is a lifesaver for this task. Move the computer to the books, rather than vice-versa!
A pair of earrings, a fuzzy poster, and a color-by-numbers, all from Rosa. She has a habit of buying fuzzy posters for people: she likes them, and she likes to color on them with you.
A burgundy-colored pashmina from my sister. A Browncoat Brigate lanyard from
beckyzoole &
bbwoof (mine says "Yes Sir, Captain Tightpants"). A share in a basket of gourmet coffee and candy from
ona_tangent and
scottak. A pair of earrings from
reannon.

Rosa got a mountain of presents too. She got the Biggest Littlest Pet Shop, a Crayola Cutter, clothes (again some things she put on right away and wore all day). Three CD's I burned for her (and made cover art for), although sadly not including the Girl Power! CD. I haven't finished that one yet. (Haven't had time to listen all the way through the selected music and finalize the selections and sequence.) A couple of computer games (Bejeweled and Chuzzle). Barbie clothes. A stained glass jewelry box shaped like a heart (designed and made by Tammie and me, natch). She would've had a little necklace to put in it but it seems to have gone missing between the purchase and the present wrapping.
