I am getting more and more fed up with the fees being charged for everything to do with money. Several of my creditors have the audacity to charge me a fee for PAYING THEM! Ten, twelve, even fifteen bucks for a "convenience fee" when you pay using the automated phone system or online. No human operator involved, I'm doing all the work. If I send a check, which will have to be opened, read, and input by a clerk, there's no fee. They're charging me for the privilege of doing a clerical job that they'd otherwise have to pay someone to do!

That does suck, and exactly for the reason stated. It's like paying more for subtitled movies, even tho they cost less to make than dubbed movies. They're just screwing you because they can.

Exactly the reason that I use the bank tellers to deposit a check instead of an ATM. The same reason that I had pulse dial on my phone, even though the switch could only use tone. I will drive their expenses up until they get reasonable about doing things that are less expensive for them.

The solution is simple. Banks have figured out that "Free Online Bill Pay" is no longer optional. If they don't offer it, and TELL people that they offer it, then they don't get new business.

Use online bill pay services through your checking account. Let the vendor try to charge the BANK a "convenience fee" -- ain't gonna happen!

I just saw a fee on one of my bills for "Billing". They are charging me to bill me? Fucks!
