After I had wondered aloud to a number of people about the mysterious Aztec calendar, Joe asked whether I'd thought of Frank. I said, you know, he was one of my first suspects, but the lack of a note...Joe told a story about a mystery object that Frank left for him once with no note, and given that much confirmation I emailed Frank and asked about it.

I think it was Quetzalcoatl that dropped it off at your cube. ;-)

Today was the deadline for emptying my mom's independent living apartment. That was a souvenir my parents brought back from one of their two trips to Mexico City where my father spoke to the Mexican actuaries association convention. (I have the engraved plate they gave him, so I still have a souvenir of that.) Neither my brother nor I had a place for it and I thought you might like it.

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's comments, and the mystery made today a bit more fun than it might have been otherwise (ugh, two long-ass meetings about long and complex projects that are coming up fast with short deadlines. All stuff that I'm going to have to do.)
