I learned more about the workings of a parliament from this thread than I'd ever managed to pick up in 2 years in England or any amount of general reading (not to be construed as including any actual research on the subject), and more about the current situation in Canada than I'd managed to glean from any news source.

I've been saying all along that programming and software engineering techniques should be applied to legislation (including alpha/beta testing and version control, among other things) .. it warms my heart to see others heading down that path as well.

Because legislation is, after all, a form of software .. and politicians are generally *terrible* programmers ..
