Bad enough I can't buy cold medicine when the pharmacist is out, now you want to make me take time off work, go to a doctor, and pay a copay just to prove I have the sniffles?

And no, you dumbasses in the comments and the statehouse, the other cold meds do NOT work as well. If they did, I'd be buying them, not signing the fucking pseudoephrine register. Duh.

I am sick and bloody tired of the presumption of guilt that is being built into our daily lives. Prove you're not a meth-cooker before you can get cold pills. Prove you're not a terrorist before you can go into any public building or get on a plane. Prove you're not a vandal before you can buy spray paint. Prove you're not a huffer before you can buy model glue (and an increasing number of other things). I AM NOT A CRIMINAL!

I'm of two minds. On one hand, once the towns started requiring a driver's license to buy the cold pills, meth production dropped like a stone. Apparently meth dealers are too dumb/stoned to drive to another town. I was skeptical at first, but it really worked. And meth is one of those that really kills the whole area. The fumes, the toxic waste, the potential explosion, I can see why they did it.

On the flip side, yeah, I get annoyed every damn month I have to go through insane legal gymnastics to fill Kiddo's medicine. But the ones I get angry at aren't the cops or the legislators who put all these restriction on it. I'm mad at the little shitheads who decided to snort their meds instead of taking them, to use cold medicine to make their damn meth. They're the ones that got us to this point.

That said, prescriptions are a step waaaaay too far. I get the register, I really do, but a scrip should only be if the medicine would be harmful if taken when you're not sick. Duh, you've got a cold, you know you need Sudafed. If you aren't sick and you take Sudafed, you'll get sleepy, not dead. That's just damn stupid. Icon is for that.

There are days I think that the proper solution is to just make all drugs available to them for free in as long as they stay inside a large prison. Like meth? Here is a 10 lbs bag. If you run out just come ask for more. Medical help? No, that is for people who can pay for it, or that we think are not a waste of resources.

Of course these are also the days I think that anyone who brings a gun when they commit a crime deserves to be tried as quickly as possible, and then if found guilty walked to the nearest dead end, placed against the wall and shot. They demonstrated that they would be willing to threaten the life of others for their own personal gain, so for the good of society, we need to get rid of them. Same goes for whoever sent out the peanut butter, knowing it was bad.

Can you tell that all day long I hear about every bank robbery, shooting, fatal car accident, industrial accident, factory shut down, etc?
