Oh my god, how horrifying! I truly don't understand how someone could ever think that that's an okay way to handle the situation. After seeing the traffic accident I saw last week, just *driving by* there was no way I could not stop and try to help. Had I hit someone and injured them, I'd be absolutely horrified...I'd want to do everything in my power to help them and hope that they would be okay. I understand a fear of being punished, but my god, doesn't that pale in comparison to the loss of someone's life? You'd have to be one stone-cold person to just leave the person to die *in your car* and not try to get them help. I can't imagine how distraught his family must feel knowing that he probably could have lived if he'd been given treatment.
I live here in the DFW area and we're all ready to shoot the lawyer. I realize that his job is defend, but to me there is no defence for that. This is what urban legends are supposed to be made of, not real life.
