About a year ago Rosa started reading Bloodsucking Fiends, after Tammie had read a chapter or two aloud to us all on a car trip, but she gave it up a few pages in. Last week, she picked it off the shelf again and asked permission to read it.
Twenty minutes ago, she finished it. Took her about a week, but she stuck with it for all 300 pages. I asked her to tell me about it. The following is her report.

I liked it. It was COOOL! It was funny at some times serious at other times.
Tommy worked at Marina Safeway. The funniest thing was turkey bowling. They broke a meat case and fixed it with some duct tape and a hammer so it looked like it never even happened.
Jody went to Marina Safeway because she wanted someone to take care of her to protect her because she's a little nervous of being a vampire. Because Tommy worked the midnight hours so they're always awake at night. She wanted a night person. She saw Tommy and thought he was cute. They moved in together into Jody's apartment. Tommy had a lot of beer in the fridge. hehe
The conflict of the story was that another vampire was murdering people but they didn't turn to dust because he broke their necks and then got their blood. They found him sleeping in a cruise ship and they blew it up but he didn't die. And then Tommy and his gang that worked the same hours as him (they were called the "Animals") they started beating up the vampire because they were afraid. But Jody came and saved him because she wanted to know about her own kind and she needed to be with someone of her own kind.
So Tommy asked these two guys who bronze things to bronze the two vampires together and he had drilled earholes for Jody's bronze statue and Jody learned how to turn to mist and she came out of the earholes. The other vampire stayed in the bronze statue. Jody was mad at Tommy for bronzing her but she got over it in a few minutes and they went out to get a bite to eat.
In the end it all turned out fine.
