Pies in the oven. Pirates on the big screen.

I knew I had to tell Kathy to buy pumpkin. I failed to consider that I might have to tell her to buy evaporated milk. She didn't have any. Never cooks. I substituted regular milk and added an egg. Hopefully that will suffice to set the custard. I've got my fingers crossed. My fingers which are fancy with shiny blue nail polish and artificial nails. Yay manicures!

Didn't do anything touristy today. Just boiled the pumpkin and let the girl cousins get reacquainted and play together, and took the nephew to his orthodontist appointment, during which I went to Target to get the missing pieces of the Christmas presents. (Popcorn popper to go with the Amish popcorn, wrapping paper, a card, that sort of thing.)

Then we came back, went to the nail salon, got Chinese takeout for dinner, and played Quiddler and Five Crowns before baking pies.
