So. Vacation. This is the third time we've gone to stay at a cabin in Northern Michigan -- as far north as you can get in Lower Michigan. If you can find Northport MI on a map, you're close. The cabin belongs to an old friend of mine and his brother, and he has let us use it three times in the last four years (last year we went to Europe).
I call it a vacation in 1980. No internet. No cell service. No cable TV. No broadcast TV either, for that matter. There is a TV in the cabin though, with a VHS player. We used it for the first time this year: we watched several episodes of the Patrick Macnee/Diana Rigg "Avengers". Wow that show is cheesy.
We did a jigsaw puzzle. We made art. We knit some stuff. We cooked our own dinners. I read a ton of books (see my monthly book post). We played some family games. We went to the beach and waded/swam in the cold clear lake. We watched a lot of waves come in, and slept with the windows open listening to the surf.
Best week ever.
