On Wednesdays we wear pink

semperfionaI hate when I accidentally participate in some pop-culture reference thing that I don't understand or know the backstory for. I've seen a few posts around FB the last few days saying "you know what Oct 3 is" and "wear pink", and I had no idea what it was about. I thought maybe it had something to do with Breast Cancer Awareness (thanks, I'm very aware of breast cancer--my sister just had a mastectomy this summer--and I'm rather distrustful of the Komen Foundation).
This morning, I was looking for something to wear, and grabbed my newish CowCow dress with cherries on it. Which is mostly pink.
As I was arriving at work, I see FB posts about 'show me a selfie in your pink' and suchlike. I finally googled. It's something to do with Mean Girls I think maybe? I never watched that...but here I am wearing pink.
Same thing sometimes happens on St Patrick's Day. I never wear green on purpose, but sometimes end up doing it accidentally. (Not that I wear Not!Green on purpose either...I just usually don't know or care what day it is when getting dressed.) The year I had dyed my hair green about a month beforehand I got SO MANY QUESTIONS. "Is your hair green for St Pats?"
CowCow dresses, by the way, are awesomesauce. I have three of them so far. Search "cowcow" on Amazon and look at all the cool designs, in a huge range of sizes, for $20 or less.
