Fandom Snowflake Challenge #2

Let's start with a check-in on my 2021 goals:

• attend Ambercon US. it's been seven years since I last attended, and it's virtual this year so there really aren't any reasons I can't. Will mean some homework (character generation, always my bugbear)

• finish some of my writing WIPs

  • niecest con-non-con sequel to Virtue Vanquished - collab w Ollie
    This is really Ollie's baby, and they put in a few words on it
  
  
  • ineffable husbands ephemera multimedia

  I did write some stuff, all very short, and none of it related to the big WIPs. but words happened, so yay


• 300K words of podfic. well on the way already, tbh
  
  • With Such Impossible Conveyance, jc centric multivoice, 99k (in progress, chapter 6/39 complete)
    Got to chapter 16 complete. Some serious delays in getting lines from people for reasons of health
  
  
  • wide enough and wild, wangxian fix-it, 64K, in progress (nothing published yet), Podfic Big Bang

  Total podfic wordcount for 2021: 409707, about 53 hours of audio

  Nope, I didn't even bother doing anything podfic bingo. Posted lotsa podfic though

• finish Duolingo Chinese. tbh I don't know how doable this is, but at least keep making progress. find a source for continued study
  I got most of the way to the end but not finished. STL Community college offers beginning Chinese


• finish Duolingo Japanese, same
  There are more Japanese lessons than Chinese lessons, by a lot. Still have a long way to go


• deal with/respond to my ridiculous AO3 inbox (800+ unread messages, yikes)
  Nope, and it's worse now, 1200 unread messages. I did delete all of the ones that referred to HP content


• deal with/tag my ridiculous AO3 bookmarks (400+ bookmarks, mostly untagged)
  Hahahaha nope. THough again, I deleted all the HP ones.


• finish shows I'm currently watching
  Guardian
  Nirvana in Fire
  Haikyuu
  Yuri on Ice
  Yep, finished them all. Also watched Word of Honor, REwatched the untamed, and watched Jujutsu Kaisen and Manner of Death (I refuse to add Thai to my list of languages to learn, though)


• keep email inbox clean of 'new messages' badges
  well, mostly. I got sloppy at the end of the year but I just cleaned it back up today

2022 Goals:

• Make 2000 words, whether on WIPs or new content


• 500K words of podfic


• continue learning Chinese. finish Duolingo, sign up for STLCC beginning Chinese


• continue relearning Japanese


• watch the bts stuff ollie recced


• make a longest-yet podfic (ie over 75k)


• check in on goals monthly


• post something at least once a month that *isn't* a dear creator letter or goals checkin

Recurring posts can help with that. You can set the topic and frequency however you like. If you want something really variable, consider a topic like "current issues" where you post links to interesting articles. It's not on my recurring posts but I really like Big Think for that.
