I did indeed finish the book last night. For the record, it was 12:30 am when I finally closed it.That makes it a much faster read than the preceding book. I emailed Jill that I had finished it, and she asked what I thought, seeing as it was her book I was reading anyway. I surprised myself with several paragraphs of comment, which I will add here.

I liked it. Typically of Laurell, though, everything gets resolved in the last ten pages with quick pen-strokes.

It's cool that she turned the traditional good vs evil thing about the seelie and unseelie courts upside-down. Taranis is a selfish idiot doing great evil in order to maintain his illusion of perfection. Andais isn't a good person, but her court welcomes all and sundry (especially sundry) and she at least stops short of such all-encompassing evil as releasing the Nameless or the elder ones.

I was glad to see Kitto finally get some, I hadn't realized (or had forgotten) he was actually such an attractive person, if way excessively submissive for my taste. And she finally did Doyle.

I do wonder, though, if she can do fertility magic, why she doesn't just do it on herself. And whether she is going to be able to get pregnant by the right person. Or whether she, as the new Queen when such a thing happens, will simply change the rules.
