year, so I called the magnet schools recruiting office to ask about it.
The man said she was not accepted. What do we do now?

Yeah, it's getting late to START looking into options, for sure. And I seriously say the above is brain-storming--throw it out, most of it falls into flaming bits, but something useful shakes loose in the meantime.
